Jerriwah shower and change room facility
In 2013 McNally Group (MG) worked with Crushing Services International (CSI) to supply and install the 400 person Jerriwah Construction Camp.
In 2016 the camp has been expanded and Rio Tinto now manage the facility. The facility was identified as being required to change from a Construction Camp to an Operations Village and in doing so various enhancements are required to ensure that the facility meets the necessary functional requirements of an Operations Village. One such enhancement is the addition of a Shower and Change room Facility to cater for shift change staff. Rio Tinto entrusted MG with a contract for the design, supply and installation of the facility.
The facility has been designed for a peak capacity of 75 people at any one time meaning a floor area of over 1,000m² and a fit out of 101 showers, 900 lockers plus male and female toilet facilities. To handle such a large number of showers the engineered Hydraulic and Mechanical services are extremely complex. The multidisciplinary design process integrated these services with both structural and electrical engineering, highlighted the skill and experience of MG’s design and construction teams as the end result is an efficient facility that exceeds both Rio Tinto and Australian Standards.
